Indoor training season is fast approaching. Here’s a device that could complete your setup to make your workouts more tailored and appealing.

Zwift Cog and Click V2

To complete your indoor training setup, in addition to Zwift’s training app and virtual worlds, Zwift offers products designed to optimize training and make life easier for cyclists: the Zwift Cog and Zwift Click V2.

Zwift Cog

The Zwift Cog is a device that replaces the cassette you would potentially need to remove from your bike's rear wheel or buy and install on your direct-drive trainer. Once installed on your trainer, the Cog can remain there for an extended period. Tests conducted by Zwift show a trouble-free use of around 25,000 hours. This simple device contains only one cog bordered by two plastic cones to keep the chain in place.

By using this device instead of a cassette, you can quickly switch bikes on the same trainer, ideal if you own multiple bikes or share the trainer with others. Additionally, the Cog V2 version has 10 micro-adjustments on the cog to optimize fast chain alignment.

Zwift Click

Since there is only one cog on the Cog, your shifters become obsolete for gear changes. This is where the second device, the Zwift Click, comes into play. It’s a wireless device that communicates with the Zwift app, signaling your trainer to simulate gear shifts. Therefore, you must use the Zwift app for the Click to function. The Click mounts on the handlebar with elastics, similar to some Garmin products, altering the usual ergonomics of gear shifting.

In Summary

The Zwift Cog and Click V2, when used with the Zwift app, make virtual indoor training interactive, realistic, and engaging.

Pros:

  • Allows multiple bikes to use the same trainer without needing to swap cassettes.
  • Durable and efficient
  • Provides an engaging training experience when used with the Zwift app.

Cons:

  • The Click only works with the Zwift app at the moment. Gear shifting will not work if you’re subscribed to another platform.
