Cycling Base Layers for Women

The cycling base layer serves the purpose of keeping your body dry and warm by wicking away moisture and sweat. To avoid feeling too hot or too cold during your activity, it's important to choose the right combination based on your type of activity, outdoor conditions, and your sensitivity to cold. Here are some tips to help you:

For low-intensity activities, we recommend a warmer base layer, especially merino wool blends (weight between 250 and 320). You can also opt for blends of synthetic fibers and merino wool for a similar result at a lower cost. Layering intermediate and outer layers is recommended to keep your body warm for longer periods.

For high-intensity activities, it's best to choose a moisture-wicking and quick-drying base layer to prevent getting very cold. Opt for a snug fit for better breathability during physical exertion. Merino wool layers offer thermoregulation properties suitable for all weather conditions, along with antimicrobial and anti-odor properties for highly active individuals. For merino wool layers, a weight between 120 and 150 is recommended. If you cannot wear wool, a synthetic fiber base layer can be a good alternative as it also possesses breathable and warming properties.
