It can be hard to find your way through the large number of helmet brands and models, especially the more specialized variety such as full-face helmets.

This is why we have drawn up an overview of POC’s latest release - the Otocon helmet.

The Otocon helmet provides full-face protection and is designed specifically for Enduro racing and its demands. This blog post highlights the helmets qualities and advantages over the competition to get a better understanding of the current landscape.

Lightweight and ventilation

The Otocon helmet is designed to be as light as possible, to make you forget it is even there while riding difficult trails. The ventilation system is optimised for superior cooling both at high and low speed, with air channels providing constant ventilation throughout the entire helmet.

Ultimate protection and durability

The exterior shell is made from polycarbonate and provides superior resistance and durability. EPP foam lines the lower part of the helmet, whereas harder EPS foam protects the head. This combination brings the perfect balance of light weight, protection and durability, without compromise. The removable visor is designed to break off in the event of a crash, helping to limit injury to the neck and head.

Comfort, adjustability and functionality

The Otocon is designed with comfort and functionality in mind. Removable cheek cushions help bring in extra ventilation to help cool you down between stages and are removable while riding. The chin grill also helps keep you cool, while also protecting from mud splashes in marginal conditions.

The simple and efficient Race Lock adjustment is quick and easy to adjust while riding for the perfect fit. And finally, it is important to note that the underside of the visor is designed to dock a GoPro camera.

MIPS Version

The Otocon is available in two versions, the second (RACE MIPS) being equipped with the MIPS crash protection layer, twICEme® NFC Medical ID chip and RECCO GPS tracker for emergency research.

All in all, the POC Otocon Helmet is an excellent choice for demanding races and rides. Its light weight and different features make it an interesting option in its categorie.
