The Zipp 404 FireCrest Tubeless Disc wheelset is mainly a road wheelset, with superior aerodynamics and stiffness. The 58mm rim depth makes for a highly aerodynamic wheelset, with the added benefit of disc brake and tubeless compatibility. While most deep section wheels have a reputation for being fussy in crosswinds, Zipp has done extensive research in rim shapes, coming up with an extremely stable ride, no matter the rider weight.

Engineers at Zipp were able to work without the constraints of a rim brake caliper and it's brake track, meaning the ABLC dimples on the surface of the rim can extend to the edge of the rim, close to the tire. This also allowed for wider rims. While not the widest internal width at 19mm, the 26.4 external width is ideal for 25mm tires, most roadies' choice of tire width.

The rims are also Tubeless compatible, meaning lower tire pressure and better puncture protection are included with this wheelset. The inner rim has a hooked edge to lock the tire's bead in place, making it an ideal choice for a solid tubeless setup.
