It helps estimate the relative tension of a wheel's spokes, identifying areas of high or low tension. By referencing the included printed table or using the Park Tool Wheel Tension App, the tension reading can be converted into kilograms-force, allowing for precise calculations of a wheel's overall tension to ensure optimal performance. The Wheel Tension App also provides interactive tools to visualize and analyze data based on TM-1 readings. The TM-1 offers accurate kilogram-force readings for nearly all bicycle spokes, regardless of material, diameter, or shape. It also comes with a spoke gauge for quickly determining six of the most common round spoke diameters (additional tools may be needed for measuring bladed spokes).
